Evolver is a sophisticated performance tool designed for crafting intricate, multi-layered evolving sequences of sound. Fundamentally, Evolver functions as a 4-lane sequencer that generates automatic accompaniment from notes and chords played on your MIDI keyboard. However, its capabilities extend to creating dynamic evolving soundscapes where audio samples seamlessly blend to form complex and innovative sounds.

At its core, Evolver boasts a refined wave synthesizer and sequencing engine capable of producing striking transitions between sounds or melding them together seamlessly to evolve in sync with the beat. With 4 independent sequencer lanes that can be blended using real-time controls or MIDI, Evolver offers versatility in creating musical compositions. When playing chords on your MIDI keyboard, each of the 4 sequencer lanes interprets the MIDI notes, transforming them into a musical sequence that harmonizes and syncs automatically to provide accompaniment.

Moreover, Evolver allows for the loading of its own multi-layer patches or direct imports from Chameleon. These patches can be layered across the 4 sequencer lanes or split using a virtual keyboard. Users have the flexibility to assign key zones, transpose them, allocate MIDI channels and velocity levels, set latch options, among other customizable features. Additionally, users can introduce their one-shot samples to craft evolving atmospheres or background soundscapes, which can be looped or run freely with definable start/end and loop points through the non-destructive editor.

Featuring a third sound source, Evolver enables users to construct sounds on-the-fly by layering harmonics to create a range from traditional sine, square, triangle, saw waves to intricate detuned oscillators. These harmonic sounds can be combined with multi-samples or one-shot samples within the same sequencer lane. The option to randomize a sequence of harmonic sounds further allows for the creation of unique and dynamic voices.

Each sequencer lane supports up to 64 steps with independent control over timing, pitch, volume, gate, probability, sample source, and more. This level of customization offers vast possibilities for creating diverse sequences. Additionally, each sequencer lane features its own ADSR, VCF, and LFO that affect all sounds within the lane while allowing adjustments to the underlying settings for each sound source.

The inclusion of an ARP function enhances performance by providing default modes or enabling users to define their fingering patterns for personalized playing styles.
